it does^^^ your 3100 is a newer version of my old d40... and my d40 had the capability :)

it all works easy peasy

the processing time on the memory card takes slightly longer.. so don't freak out when your camera locks up...

i have a 40mb/s card and it still takes a while to process the images that take 2 minute exposures

I just checked it, It doesn't work with my remote, It's just an IR remote that works through the battery grip, Oh well, I honestly don't enjoy shooting night stuff anyway, The d3100 is a very difficult camera to work with in most low light conditions.
