So mad at how things came out tonight all of the pics are out of focus. I played with it on every picture and every picture came out shitty.

I give up :(

Lol next time ill put my hood on. And I has a fire extinguisher. It actually came factory with my car!! Ha.

Here's one that I kind of likes. But not super likes. Out of focus. It's hard to focus on a car when you can't really see it. It was so dark I was having issues. And cold.... Stupid cold. Your balls might have frozen cold.

By the way I used glow sticks for the circles in the back. I found something way better though. When I get a tripod you will see what I mean I do have an example of one tho...

One of the tips I read (giggity) recommended using a flashlight to light up your focus area. You can always switch it to manual to stop it from readjusting.

If you're using long exposures why not just set your aperture at f8 and focus to infinity. At those distances everything would be in focus.

I use the stock lens. Last night I used a 35mm but it doesn't have the infinity symbol on it. Is that what you mean?

Yea, I thought all lenses came with a focus scale.

Then I found this laying around

In that case if you turn the focus ring left all the way (when you're looking through the viewfinder) you should be focused at infinity. If it's not an infinity hard stop i'd recommend marking the focus ring and barrel, so you know where it is, kinda handy for mf.

I can't remember entirely but I think Nikon DX lenses don't have that feature to dial to. I don't remember having it on my kit lens with the d3100. It's a guessing game pretty much lol

Yea I forgot a lot of kit lenses don't have a scale. If you zoom out to the widest focal length and aim at something far away the camera will focus to infinity, then you can mark it like this.
