no, the hondata ecu will be tuned...
if you put the stock ecu in it it would run like shit and fail
if you get it tuned to pass it will pass
but a lot of states are pretty lenient (compared to CA) and i just get local "hookups"
dude, i am talking about the onboard diagnostics port under the dash of all obd2 vehicles. i cant pass the inspection with an obd1 ecu because they wont be able to hook it up to their computer.....

I may be a little late in here but I thought I would give my input anyways. The first car I built was turbo car, it made about 400whp off the bottle, and 600ish on spray. I currently have a JRSC B20vtec with the LHT after-cooler. Im unsure of whp numbers on the new car but it should be approaching the 300whp mark. I can say that I enjoy driving the JRSC car much more than I did the turbo car, and because of how linear the JRSC is I have found that its really not much slower than the old car at 400whp, the JRSC car also comes out of the hole much faster on a slick or drag radial than my turbo car ever did. You would have no issues making similar power or more on a turbo setup but unless your looking to build a drag car, I don't think you would be at all disappointed in a JRSC for a very fun street, auto x, track, drag, all around fun car, and you can't beat the simplicity of the setup. My setup makes about 10psi, I have a mvm stepper pulley b20 crank pulley and a custom 3.6 snout pulley.

For tuning my current setup is a Neptune Demon in a p28, injector dynamics 725cc injectors and a walbro intank pump. I have never tried using an obd2 scanner on a obd1 converted car, which mine is, but if I had to have my car scanned I would keep the stock injectors and the stock ecu and put them in when the car had to be scanned and absolutely stay off the throttle at all, these JRSC make instant boost and it wouldn't take much to blow a motor running a stock ecu and injectors.

If you have any other questions I would be more than happy to help you out. You can PM me or reply here,
