Stock motor with turbo = bad idea. But there is a ton of info on the site already about the subject. If I'm not mistaken there is a sticky on turbo builds. I had one turbo'd on stock motor and it didnt last long
206k on a STOCK b18 @ 10psi and runs perfect, no issues AT ALL:)

Just so you know $1200 is not enough to get the car turbo'ed. You will probably have to spend a bit more then that on the turbo kit. Then you need injectors, engine management, an exhaust, someone to tune it, ect..
Depends where he looks. Turbo'd 2 acuras and spent under $1200 on BOTH..

1 at 10psi
1 at 12psi

both b18's..both stock

NOT including the tune which will cost $120 each car, and injectors at around $200.

It's possible, but depends where you look !

GL on your search though :)

I suppose that depends how much quality is going into the build...

$100. Chipped ECU.
$400. Dyno tune from a reputable tuning shop.
$500 2.5" Custom Exhaust.
$100 Walbro Fuel Pump.
$100 440cc RC Injectors. (Used, $200-300 new.)
$100 Greddy Type-S Blow Off Valve. (Used, new in box.)
$50 Oil Sandwich Plate.

Well over $1200 not including the turbo, turbo manifold, wastegate, intercooler or piping, half radiator or oil lines. I can't see having a real reliable build for $1200 or less unless you are running completely un-tuned or have a cheap ass tuner. (In my opinion throwing reliability out of the door.)

...just sayin'

I just boosted over the weekend I have $1100 in turbo parts, running no exhaust atm tuned off apexi VAFC2. Don't forget fuel upgrades. I was going down the freeway and the car just turned off. So i tried to turn it on and It sounded like it was getting no fuel. Then I turn off the key and on you don't hear the fuel pump so i checked the relay and stuff it's good but the fuel pump went out it couldn't handle it. Also don't listen to the people who say you can't boost high compression. I'm running B18C5 block with head built for N/A about 11:1 compression it ran real good and fast until one of the intercooler piping pieces came apart and the fuel pump went out.

I say save $1000 for turbo parts and piece it together, about $500 for hondata s300, $400 for fuel injectors pump etc, Than exhaust and make sure your tuner knows what he is doing. Also don't get ebay downpipes etc I didn't have a downpipe and my friend let me use a ebay 3" downpipe we hit it with a hammer to dent a part to make it fit and the weld broke. Ebay welds are shit, My downpipe is now a 3" pipe that goes from the turbo to the ground.

^ Not a thread jack if anyone has anything to say to me or ask, pm me. Was just stating what happened to me so he doesn't forget fuel parts or get any type of ebay parts. (I hate towing bills)

Should of said I got a kit complete for $600 for both cars ($600 a piece)
Came with the bov,injectors,and exhaust

I should also have said my buddy owns a local shop and tuned it for us for $100 a car.

But to the OP, search hard and smart. Don't jump on the 1st things you see, and follow some advice from the guys who post in here, they seem to know what there tallking about.

I do budget builds, and own about 6 cars, so I tend to search LONG, hard and let my cash talk. If your not like me and want to get everything right away then these guys are right, spend the $1200+ and get a nice kit. I know of a few ppl who were sleling complete kits which is why I got everything so cheap, and knowing people in the tuning industry also helps lol.

But good luck, and do post pictures when your ready !
