I'm new to the car seen...Used to race bikes- drag, circuit and street...just bought a '96 teg...Trying to decide wich direction to go in as far as motor is concerned...I dont know enough to decide wether to go b16 or b18 gsr head.

what are the pros and cons between the two?

welcome car looks pretty clean :D the B16 head will give you higher compression if you choose to use it in an LS/VTEC build

Looks good... I use to have a Silver DC4

btw u have ur pics as DC2... thats incorrect... you have a DC4. DC2 is a gsr, DC4 is a ls/gs/rs

Welcome and enjoy ur stay.

Are you talking about doing an LS/VTEC build? If you are, please don't. There are much better routes.

If you are planning on boosting it ls/vtec is a good route, at stock you can hit 270-300whp, all you need is a great tune and not cheap out on the little thing (I dont know if he is planning on boost in the future, but none the less ls/vtec is not a bad setup alone). The only thing that is better than this would be build a K motor. Let me know if im wrong but I think I might be right?

thats right.
Are u just looking for more power? Or are u trying to do a N/A build?
:welcome: to the club!
LS/VTEC is usually not a very reliable route to go,

Ls/vtec is reliable when done the correct way. I have 4 friends 2 on this site that have boost lsvtec setups that have never broken down due to lsvtec....its always been an axle or tranny. If you do it right the first time you will never have to worry about it. 8)

im doing a complete build and plan on boosting in the future...this is my plan (not sure if i should do b16 or gsr head) im going to buy a head build it completely first then take my car off the road for a bit and built my block or possibly buy and build a block...like i said im new lol idk too much about what route to take as far as the head goes...i have heard to can make more power out of a b16 head over the gsr head. what head should i do if im doing a complete build and going to boost with a t3/t4 setup...and im taking my time i refuse to do anything cheap

back to the (OP) question, I would go either is cheaper and is a complete head. Most people tend to sell them without the solenoid, manifold or distributor. The next question is what power are you wanting your car to make? This will narrow down the options you could have,
