does anyone run just a standard battery and still have no problem with lights dimming? I was planning and buying a better battery because I have a walmart ever start -__- and I saw power cells on sonic electronix that can be used in place of your standard battery even though people use the power cells as secondary batteries to power their audio system alone. I was looking at this one http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_17907_SHURiKEN-SK-BT20.html

some people said just buy a yellow top optima battery but its $180 vs this $80 or $119 the only thing I could couldnt find was the cold cranking amps for the power cells from sonic but the optima has gotten great reviews its just more expensive
I have 4 soundstream speakers and a 12" sub with 500 watt amp in my legend and have a normal battery and it never gave me problems, and I have a hid kit also

How would I know if mine are stock an deteriorating? and how would you fix it?
I look at them with my eyes and visually inspect them. They just look old. Might as well replace em

You can call Sonic and ask them if there power cell's can be used as primary battery in a vehicle. Because I read one of the shirken batteries had 950 cranking amps, or buy a extra battery and run a positive cable to your trunk, charges the battery at the same time.

And always use a big ground cable and short also and not to long either, because my lights used to flicker until I was told that. So give it a try.

Bad idea unless you set it up right. Gotta get something for it (relay?). Can't remember what it's called but it cuts off the connection between each battery when you shut your car off so the audio battery doesn't drain your car's main one.

I didn't say it was hard to install, just that I didn't remember what it was called and it was bad to not have one with a multi battery setup. Lol.
