I think some paint jobs are more expensive not only becuase of the quality of the paint, but becuase the shops do all the body work too
true dat. paint without bodywork is a nono. anyways you should be willing to pay at least over a grand if you want your car to look nice and fot the paint to stay on the car

repainting your whole with good quality like dupont paints or better would cost you at least 1500 or more....this is what a shop quoted me on

i got my old accord painted at earl schieb and it wasnt bad ... but i definitley should have gotten the top paint instead of the intergrated clear coat bullshit

I would never get a $300 paint job. Thats just fucking stupid because you know damn well that shit will fade and its not everything.

When my car gets totally repainted, that bitch is getting stripped and every little thing is getting painted. THATS HOW YOU DO IT. Don't paint just the exterior and not the engine bay. That's some ghetto shit.

It does depend on the paint also. R-81 is one of the most expensive Honda paints. Over $100 a pint.

I wouldn't let anyhting other than a Honda paint (PPG) to touch my car, not that gay Dupont shit.

Anybody hear the saying, "you get what you pay for?" well that applies to paint jobs.

does it really  i was under the impression that paint was an area controlled by god...no but really now..i gotta agree completely with g3teg...going for a paint job ought to entail strippin the whole car to paint everything...and get it all done at once..(not to mention u might as well fabricate any interior parts during the long wait.." . = $$ ..bah

paint jobs will break you off... mainly cause of labor. $500ish for all the materials by PPG. candy paint... another 150 more or less depending on color. and another 1k+ on labor.... this depends if you're completely repainting the whole car... or just door jams and engine bay.... or etc...

so yea, if you have the skills and the know how of autobody 101... then you can prep the car yourself.... find a painter to shoot it for you. thats the only way you can save money.

Save up for a full repaint. You could probably get away with not stripping everything becuase your not doing a color change and staying with black.

i would think it would be a little harder to find a shop that will paint a car with somone elses body work on it. cause if it turns out shitty they dont want thier name on it. although this is what i plan on doing when i get mine painted. my car is already black and i want to paint it black again, i think i would save money by not painting the jambs, bay, and so forth. any thoughts?
