ok so finally my day off, now time to destroy my interior
items needed..
4 bottles of RiT Dye
33 gal trash can
bottle of whatever carpet cleaner
scrub brush
10mm socket
12mm socket
17mm socket
phillips screwdriver
flat head screwdriver
2 canisters of morton salt
rubber gloves (optional)
2 beers of choice
took back seats out.. that was fun seeing as the person who owned it before me.. twisted? the seats so it was all bent up.. that wasnt fun, then removed the driver and passener seat.. btw these were the easiest seats ive ever removed lol

now in process of removing center console and seatbelts.. btw godzilla wrenched these seatbelts down omg biggest PITA ever, finally broke them loose.
and I got lazy so I cut a small area of the carpet so I wouldnt have to remove my whole center console to get to it.. it was in the back under the radio bezel so no one is ever going to notice

then decided to scrub the carpet down from whatever soda spills, bodily fluids & rust stains that killed the carpet.. now I have an extracting machine with a scrubber so it was must easier and saved me alot of time but on the heavier spots I still treated them and scrubbed with my brussel brush..

more updates tomorrow, still have to get some supplies like sound deadener in-a-can and more salt for the dye

sorry everyone no updates today, got sidetracked by driving 30 miles to meet someone with some headers... ended up being a flop, guy states theyre SS and when I looked at them they were chrome+ were previously wrapped but currently I just pressure washed the last bits to make sure its REALLY clean before I soak it

updates today.. carpet was cleaned again last night.. I pressure washed it with commercial grade cleaning solution... so much better lol its grey again, oh and as I previously stated the last owner lived on a beach, it took 21 whacks with a spoon to get most of the fine grain sand out AFTER i pressure washed, so I also have been ripping up the last of the sound deadener

all the rust!

and this is JUST from the back seat area

all sanded down with a wheel wire brush

so much prettier
and alltogether ALL the sound deadener weighed 31.4 lbs (except for trunk area due to my future exhaust I dont want making me deaf like my subaru does

WALA FINISHED

dont mind the dirt...vacuuming before I add the carpet protectant

after I pulled it from its bath I rinshed with warm water VERY gently to remove any excess dye so when it rains my white shoes wont turn purple

MOAR PIKTURES (all finished seats in)

also scrubbed the crap out of the driver/passenger seats to get rid of any dirt stains
and while putting back seats back in I looked and noticed a TON of rust on the back seats.. so I took the sanding wheel and got rid of it all...can you see the difference?

i think my next project next week is going to be painting the valve cover & replacing plugs, wires & VC gasket, noticed some oil on my plugs so it's time.. I estimated $60 for plugs& wires and $23 for VC paint and gasket
