New here, from rainy Washington. Lookin at getting a teg for my first car. I'm looking for an un modded or relatively un modded Teg but damn that's hard to find..I want a 5 speed for sure. Obviously i want the type R/GSR but i can only find modded ones.:x So my question iswhich package should i look for? LS/RS/ etc. and can you tell me why you would suggest that model over another? Thanks in advance.

thats right.
If u have the chance of course get a gsr, and unless u 15,000 bucks to spend u won't get a type r, i would go for a LS or GS if u can find a decent one

I <3 Boost
i say just go for a gsr, but that will be harder to find than a gs/ls/etc.

its way easier to find a unmodded ls and it will also be much cheaper than a gsr.

That link was definately helpful.
I know type R's are soooo expensive
An all the gsr's in this area on Craigslist are modded.. I really want stock.
An because most the tegs have either swaps or turbos (that aren't stock) it's really depressing:(

Any one else have somethin to add?

p.s. thanks to the mod for changing the title.Definately better.

Yeah sure a type-R is pretty awesome but for a first car not so great. Pretty much junk the engine after a low amount of miles on it. Designed to perform great but not to last. Definitely if you can spoil yourself with a stock GS-R that would be awesome but chances are slim. An ls or gs is perfectly fine for a first car. Very fun to drive, definitely 5 speed or else that is not very sporty haha

get GSR or LS. Type R is awsome too but if you mess it up it'd be pretty spendy haha! you'll most likely find the basic bolt on mods on most tegs if not so modded already, which is exhaust headers, full cat back exhaust systems and intake! which in my opinion thats ok because you can switch it out yourself with not a lot of problems at all! LS is great if you mod it a bit you can take on 99-00 civic SI(even GSR's) no prob on the launch and for the highend you could pull with the right mods and tune up. GSR is great and fast, just lack a little of the lowend power. in all honesty i like em all, just really depends on what route you wanna tune your car! good luck on picking your teg!

I say RS or GSR. RS is the lightest model and will be a good base for mods, also there easier to find unmodded than a GSR. I got a modded 95 GSR for 1500 cus it was a gross poluter and needed a cat and o2 sensor. the front was messed up but i replaced it with a JDM front for 1100 bucks installed. My motor burns oil but my dads a retired honda master tech so we plan on rebuilding the motors bottom end in 10k or so anyways.

i got my ls for bout 4 grand.. and it was bone stock (minus an alpine stereo from 1996 XD lol) but ya like everyone else is sayin look for a gsr. the engine seems to be more solid then the type r so you kno it will last longer. altho i hear the b18b can take more boost on stock internals then the b18c, but all depends on what you want to do with the car later on

You have to be patient and keep an eye on the classifieds and the online forums. Evetually, you'll get your car.

look at sites like Autotrader too and be prepared to travel. I found what I wanted it took a while and was looking in a 500 mile radius. Do a custom search
