need some help on how to ask someone to prom

I hope she's the kind of girl that is into those big dramatic proposals. Around this area girls would laugh at somebody who did that. First thing they would think is why the fuck did he hang a banner on my garage...nerd! lol Of course, the girls around here are also fake "gangsta gangsta" whores haha. Goodluck wth that though.

Same with the girls I know. And there not "Gangsta gangsta." Girls I know would just be thinking "Creeper" if someone did that. Along the lines of "how did he know I was coming home today, why did he make a banner." I mean what if you make a big ass banner and she already has a date, or says no? I think a private or more personal time would be a better way to ask. Alot of girls will think it means more that way as well.

Not trying to be mean, but really all these "going big" ideas just seems like overkill to me.
