Sorry if I missed it, but what kind of piston rings did you end up going with? I am still waiting to see if I am going to like my Total Seals or not.

They are NPR N50 rings that come with all Wiseco, CP Carillo, RS, Arias. Most of the aftermarket piston companies use the same rings.

Got ya. That is what I sort of figured, especially since you didn't specify anything. Still a quality ring, imo. I like your work station though. Much more organized than mine was this last time. :p

I redid #2 anyways. Came out perfect this time. I was getting pretty good at it and I had extra wire so why not.

It wasn't as bad as I had expected from the stories I've heard. I would over cut the length I needed. File one end square and punch it in place with the wood handle and every half inch or so around the circumference. Once the wire wrapped around to the end Id cut it so there was a tiny overlap then file it until it lined up.

I used ahobbs DIY thread for guidance.

Yeah, it always sounded like a patience thing to me. It is the people who try to rush it that seem to have problems. Good work though sir. Lucky for me I am NA and will never have to do this, but I will keep that link saved regardless.

I got the head installed.

ARP head studs torqued into the block at 15ftlbs and 70ftlbs on the nuts with moly lube. I do not subscribe to the "finger tight" method.

I tapped the oil orifice so I could remove it easier. I’ve been meaning to do that for years.

GE bored 85mm OEM head gasket. I’ve started encircling the oil drain holes on both sides of the head gasket with RTV. I do not use copper spray.

Because my block always leaks oil from this corner - #4 exhaust.

Reusing the Endyn oil pump, water pump, tensioner. New OEM fasteners FTW.

Looks great muckman! It's refreshing to see builds like this instead of, "I put on a lip! And changed my oil, and now I have 1 racing harness!"

How come you don't like using copper spray? Haha my oil orifice is tapped as well. Makes life easier.

When you dyno it, make sure to get video.

I'll get lots of videos. Im all about documenting and disclosing everything.

Without question copper spray does not hold back any compression. The question is does it help seal fluids. And Ive had oil seepage from the same corner from two head gaskets with copper spray and two without. All surfaces milled everytime. Now I do the RTV trick (credit goes to Endyn) and no seepage.
