I don't want to spend a lot. Only about $2,000 or so, but what would be the least difficult to do? And I want it to look good. I want to repaint it, because the previous owner had it painted like 16 different colors, but it looks ok. I was only thinking B16, because it will mount right it. Won't it?

For a show car? That depends...

What style of show car are you going for? Old-school rice or JDM fanboi status?

I personally would just go with a B18B1, put a GReddy turbo kit on it with some forged pistons and rods, then get a tune. Also, get some braided oil lines.

You could be putting down 220whp without even trying on that setup. There was a guy on TI a long time ago that was putting down over 310whp on the GReddy kit (with a proper tune, not the emanage piggyback). Granted, he had a GSR... but still, the B1 is a more-than-capable motor when it comes to boost.

Thank you for that translation Matt.

Just let it go Matt...just let it go. Telling this guy anything is like riding a stationary bike. Sure it gives you a work out, but after an hour of pedaling you're still in the same spot you started.

To the OP, SEARCH noob.

if you're building a show car, just spend all the money on look and don't even bother with the engine, with "show" pieces it's more than likely going to be babied and not driven hard, due to the fact you may break some rare/expensive/custom part. make it all show and no go. If you want some go, just get another b18a, rebuild it and piece together a decent turbo setup or look for a decent kit.

if you're really set on a motor swap,a good combo is a B20z, with a b16, trans. it won't make you're car amazingly fast, but the tq of the B20z and those short gears of the b16 trans good for some spirited drives. you can use you're stock ls trans if you want since it has the tq for those tall gears . Ls vtec is another option, but with only 2000 bucks to spend your options are limited, I"m not saying it can't be done, but you need to think about what can be done "realistically" with what you have and what you want to do.
Are you going to to be doing the work yourself? is it going to be done at a shop? have you ever done a motor swap before?
just do some more research and you will get all the info you need so you know what your options are.
good luck.
