Make my Teggy fast again!

so recently ive experienced different things with my 93 integra.
the most problem im havin is acceleration wisee
hope you guys can help me!
1.acceleration:when you try to accelerate the car takes a good 4 seconds to even get off 10 mph and that is with the you steping on the pedel the whole way!
also while driving it and you try to step on it too fast it "buckles" until you let go off the pedel.
it just doesnt accelrate like its suppose too.

2.Idle
the idle while in park or at a stop light is normal around 650-750rpm.
the thing is it vibrates like hell! the seats and steering wheel shake.

help a fellow teggy get its speed back!:D

Well If you have the clutch pushed in while exclelerating thats going to slow you down. Sounds like you need a tune up. New spark plugs/wires, oil change, coolent change, ETC.

turn your idle up to ~850. you motor mounts may bebad, check them out. as for acceleration, do a tune up. check your ecu to see if its throwing a code. also change your plugs, and maybe wires. it sounds like a bad sensor or plugs, so check your ecu

i replace 02 sensor like 2 weeks ago.
oilchange was done 1month ago.
the ecu was throwing the o2sensor that is why i replaced it.

so should i adjust it to 850rpm?

Just call me chris.
i would not suggest fucking with your idle speed its fine. its more than like a mix of mileage and motor mounts. i have a mount out and it can drag ass and vibrate alot. you will be able to tell if they are torn. dont forget to check the lower engine mount and the tranny mount.

^^^well im guessing its auto cause he mentions that when he is in park the idle is fine..the problem could be a combo of a few different things....if you have the original mounts in the car they are prob shot...

let me add some more details.
the car seems to run its worst when cold.it vibrates more and accelerates slower.
when its warm the acceleration its a little bterr but the vibration is still there

SO I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM

I bought a 1990 integra ls automatic with 220,000 miles. i had the same symptoms bad gas mileage, shaking, rough idle,. its acceleration was so slow like 10-15 seconds to accelerate to like 20mph even if you floor the pedal it just bogs. after you finally get going it accelerates "ok". . it had new diz cap, rotor, wires, plugs and batt. so it didnt need a tune up. i figured the problem was my o2, and that i had holes in my exhaust everywhere. so just to test it i disconnected my o2 and drove it around and it acually made a slight difference. and now i put on a new catback and it accelerates alot better. with no holes. lol. still the acceleration is not as good as i think it should be. but thats with NO o2 sensor at all. i plan on getting an o2 soon and i will post if it helped my acceleration further.

for your rough idle. try cleaning your idle air control valve dont change your idle speed. the shaking could be a few things bad motor mounts, bad timing.


but its weird my teg runs better and accelerates perfect when its cold and shitty when it warms up. anyone know what this could mean??
