most california laws regarding car modifications = ridicilous logic

there should be NO VISUAL inspection of a car when it comes to smog check. If your car passes the sniffer you should be good to go REGARDLESS of if there is a different motor in there, or if an intake has a carb number ... these are just ridicilous standards designed to screw over auto enthausiasts and keep shitty companies like AEM in business.

It has to do with a saftey issue. I have cop who is a good friend I always ask him questions. The reason is if a car get a blow out it can still drive safley down the street on the wheel. there is no such thing as other drivers can see you.In Ca, the center of the Headlight cant be lower then 22inches from the ground, Also no part of the body , including body kits and add-on kits can not be lower then the bottom of the wheel. as far as front plate just take it off if you get pulled for it ; its only $15 fix it ticket.

Im from Stockton Ca. My brother used to work at Autosport Addiction. And he always tell me about how his customers got pulled over for stupid tickets like no front plate, modified exhuast, or too low.acurals209 is right police do profile and it sucks. Me or my brother have yet to runto this problem, but it is a problem. Maybe a cop should take a class to know the the hell he's looking at or for. it might help stop tickets like illegal intake when theres a carb number on it. But honeslty they should use the money to promte a local track or build a track.

i remember on mtv a few years back they had one of those true life shows (i believe thats what it was) with i think street racers or something to that effect. they showed all these guys getting pulled over and the cops were just ripping the guys apart for shit on their cars. they had them popping their hoods and everything. it was crazy

sup acurals209 man i been cool i actually been in the central valley a lot lately for my job in the vineyards checkin on grapes.

I figured sacramento was gonna be bad by now cause i got my last window tint tikcet out there, but they been cool and not pulled me over yet and i seem to roll thru there on i5 about once a week.

i agree. i dont think ive ever heard of anyone really getting pulled over for any mods in my area. i knew a kid that got pulled over for his tint and he was just like "yeah im getting it taken off in a day or too cause i cant see that great" and the cop let him go. other then that... thats all i can think of. probably the majority of the people in the area that get busted for modding their cars actually get pulled over for other reasons... and then decide they wanna be a smart ass to the cop so they get written up for shit they have done to their cars on top of it.

i cant figure out why ca wont allow front window tint.

The central valley, and southern california easily hit upper 90s to 100 in the summer ... and the fuckin cops try to act like its a big deal if they cant see you in the car ... well how the fuck do the cops in new mexico deal with it where 20% is legal you morons!

Wyoming was one of the last states to put a tint law into effect, and EVERYONE who was some sort of car enthuasist was pissed cause they had their tint for reasons like security (jackers cant see into car to steal shit) or other things.

Wyoming was actually cool enough to give people vouchers if they had old tint so they could keep it.

in my opinion its mainly for safety for all the idiots that wanna put 10% on their windsheild and then not be able to see at night and end up hitting something or someone. also if i was a cop and pulling someone over that had their windows blacked out to the point where i couldnt see in id be pretty caution. id be walking up to the car gun drawn and all. and no telling if its some loser high on crack ready to shoot a cop for pulling him over cause hes got a trunk worth a few grand on the streets.

but thats just my opinion. i love tint but but im against it on the windsheild unless its like 80% or something barely noticable. or just a strip at the top.

i'm from jersey my car is very low and out of all the times i've been pulled over it's never been for having my car to low i remember seeing something on tv about street racers in cali that were getting tickets for intakes and exhausts i thing that is just to make money
