Low PSI Turbo on Stock Internals Reliable?

Speed daddy, taco taco are ALL just junk... I would just part together a kit... You can do a budgit build for around 800 bucks with so fair to good parts. Only thing I would use from Ebay is a CAST Iorn manifold non of that alum foil crap they sell it will last about 2 weeks and crack of blow out. But the intercoolers and piping are ok (make sure to get the Cx racing stuff there pipes are actually thick enuff to use T clamps and boots or to get welded. Look around on Craigslist and find a used Volvo T3 or the old Benz T3 turbos they can be had for around 100 to 150 in good shape and will actually spool pretty quick. Like one of the other guys said 5lbs isnt worth it and when you talk power wise its not good to talk in PSI but HP goal cause like said before 5lbs on a t25 next to 5lbs on a T3 is diffrent because yes they flow 5 lbs both, but they move diffrent amounts of CFM's. Make sure you use a good tune like s300 or neptune RTP cause VAFC are junk really and such a pain, some tunners wont tune with them. Next would to be to find someone who can tune your car and see what kind of tunning software he uses. Next is fuel If your going to run anyware below 220 (I think thats a max) I would just use some DSM 440's that can be had for around 80 bucks. Last Ebay wastegates are junk I dont care if your uncles kids son ran one and it worked for him they are junk and not worth messing up your engine and turbo when they fail! Use turbosmart waste gate and BOV cause there not the best but they get the job done.

ive know of a few people that have had quite a bit of success with the ebay turbo kits. now with that being said personally I would never use one. even if you don't have much money just piece all the parts together that you need when you can, then slap it on and get it tuned. if you cut corners you'll hate yourself in the end for not doing it right the first time. and like someone posted before 5 psi isn't the same for all turbos so do your research before jumping into it

well i ordered an ebay turbo but by all means im not boosting the crap out of it, will be running low boost. but yeah in a way im also piecing things together as well and will upgrade the turbo, BOV, Waste gate, ect. as i go. Ill let you guys know how things go in my build thread, boosting in the next couple of weeks. and if i do blow the motor then that sucks but would be a great learning exp. + b18a1's are pretty cheap to come by anyways lol.

Tial is awsome, but you can use turbosmart stuff there pretty good and they have pretty good customer service. Its nice cause there like 1/2 as much as tial but still better then ebay crap. Be carefull with there turbo timer and oil supply lines there just cheap china stuff. If you need to just get hydrolic line and use that for oil supply line.. and be ready to run to Home depot alot! What ebay turbo kit did you get? put up a link for it.. Do you have injectors in mind? DSM 440's (blue tops) will be a good safe injector to run. What are you going to use to tune the car with? Neptune RTP will be the best cheapest at 399 and hondata (the best) will run you about 495 plus the conversion to OBD1. Dont just bolt it on and go cause the motor isnt going to last long!

he can get s100 for $200 which is what id recommend, then you can upgrade later through hondata to s300 for $200 more bucks. saves you $100 in the long run

I would just go for S300 but thats me.. I just hope this guy listened about cast iron manifold.. Hope he didnt get a tin foil one that last a week maybe

im still processing everything out so yeah haha. thinking about 450cc injectors, aem fuel rail, walboro, as for tuning im still deciding. i mean since my engine i have now is somewhat new im just gonna run low boost on it, (stock internals) Buy another b18a1 or get the jdm b18a, build that while its out, then when everything is ready, upgrade my turbo kit, turbo, BOV, Waste gate, ect. outfit the new engine with it, swap in and Tune do a tune again increase the boost and watatata everywhere. :)
