I managed to find an old M-series shift knob at a junkyard last summer. I really wanted to put it in the Miata but I discovered the stock Miata knob is weighted when I took it off. I looked back at the unweighted M-series knob and was like meh, I guess it will sit in my toolbox forever now.

It's not in the best shape and it's not threaded, my guess is that it snaps onto the BMW shifter.
I couldn't get it to turn off so I pulled really hard and it popped off and I got a black eye. I would've been more careful but the junkyard was closing so I was walking to the front to pay for my other parts when I saw it so I had to act fast.
