interior dome light q?

Well exactly like Coy's problem, my dome light doesn't work when you open the door, but you can flip the switch on it and turn it on. However, the door ajar light will come on with the door open.

hmmm didn't realise the factory radio controlled the dome light in some of the cars...

I stand corrected.

how stupid is that... installing main sensors and features which go through the most likely thing stolen from a car.. makes alot of sense.

Well there are no wires that are un-used behind my cd player. How can that be an issue?

i have a 99 civic with keyless entry and also had a 1996/ 1998/200 civic with and with out factory keyless and alarm

never had to use one of those harnesses nor had any dome light problems

does you door open/ lights on ringer work?

the alarm works fine. it didnt come on with the oem radio either.

i took the dome light off and saw nothing wrong with it. im gonna remove the alarm thats in it right now soon. maybe thats the problem.

edit: just read that thread posted above. fuck..
look like i got some reading/homework to do.

I like the tuna here
i disconnected my factory head unit and a couple days after that the climate control, dash clock and dash lights went out. I have an after market radio but haven't installed yet.

update:
i have fixed it! :D

good thing i decided not to buy that $14 plug. this basically did the same thing..



after making sure it worked, i shortened the wire to about an inch and wrapped the plug with electrical tape :thumbs up

now.. to rip out the alarm.. i'll do it when it gets colder.. hopefully it does this weekend.

I'm on the east here, and today's been decent, it's around 50, yesterday was like 40's and rainy all day. Probably not as bad as you, but still, quite cold.

Don't feel bad. It's only on that very particular year Civic with keyless entry. Honda realized the problem and fixed the issue within 2 years. Every professional installer worth a crap knows about this. Unfortunately that's only about 10% of all installers. I used to fix this issue several times a week. You cut the wires before the harness and connect them. They're both light green with a stripe.

Someone would come in to have their aftermarket stereo replaced. When they get their car back from me, suddenly their dome light works with the door. I got a lot of tips that way.

I have an 01 gsr and have the same problem. I have an aftermarket deck,door lights work via switch and say they are on when the door is open. Are the wiring harness the same?
