Why and how?
most cars are Macpherson strut now... They don't down grade as times progress....
Well I can't tell you WHY wishbones are better, but I CAN tell you why Macpherson struts are inferior..
Macpherson struts can't allow vertical motion of the wheel(shock/spring compression) without some degree of camber change and sideways movement. It also allows the wheel to "lean" with the body.
I do agree that most newer cars use the Macpherson design, due to its simplicity and packaging. But I also credit its popularity to unibody designs, which provide the vertical space and strong mounts that Macpherson struts need.
Or you can just prove me totally wrong! LOL
