im actually in the process of selling my integra and getting a compact pickup like a ranger / tacoma / frontier

but not because im sick of the scene or my car, but becuase i dont appreciate the profiling i have been recieving over the past couple of months from the chp and other law enforcement agencies. I was also the victim of an illegal search in january by the chp

ill still post .... its just that im moving twice this summer, and doing a few other things that it would just be easier to ride a truck for

my plans for whatever it is i get is to transfer the system over from the integra, all clear lenses with hiperwhites up front, billet grille, black out the windows, and drop it on some 18s ... so im sure ill still be the victiom of some profiling ... but generally they dont care how much you lower a truck around here unless its on air suspension cause people drag and tare up the roads.

OK here is my view on the car scene. i don't give a shit like/dislike the jdm/bodykit/etc..... If you do it right, it will stop all the bull shit talking because the people jaws will be on the floor.

loved body kits from the start and always will if put everything together right. Meaning the lines on the body kit must "flow" with the lines off the car.

Example below. i would for sure do to this the an RX-7 if i had the money.

And this to a supra w/out the stickers

also, and this to an nsx w/out the stickers

the above three are beautiful cars.

i just think that some people have forgotten how nice body kit can be because they've been exposed to too much of this...

people are taking too many short cuts and a ending up with pieces of crap like this and it ruins a scene. Now this is happening to the JDM scene too.

i mean...i see the term "JDM" as the racing inspired so your car must look the look and it's also got to walk the walk.

Build your car for yourself because it's your money. Just make sure that after you spend all that hard earned cash, you have a reflection of perfection.

Another thing. You complain about being labled....Drive an SRT4 or something. I couldnt tell you how much shit I get just because of what I drive. Its almost daily I have some punk motherfucker in a little honda most of the time. Running his mouth or reving his engine up at me. Or how many times people make the assumtion that Im cocky, or a douche because of my choice in a car. No offence but most of the members on this site have even done it. So how can one complain about being sick of a scene because of the rep. they have for driving a honda when you're doing it in return.
I can go on and on about this shit but I wont
( that wasnt aimed to any one person)

Ha-ha! That's funny. Makes me think of yesterday some douche in a lowered, primered Civic Si hatch with a fart can rolled up along side me and reved and then sort of took off.

Now, I was driving my wife's car at the time... a stock, automatic, four-door Civic DX, so it wasn't like I was even in my Integra that looks sort of menacing, I even had my son in his car seat in the back. It's people like that who give the scene a bad name.

I, personally, don't care what others do, I like my car and I like modifying it and seeing how other people have modified their cars but I'm not going to stop driving my car because of douchebags.

That said, I totally see Melt's point. Cops in CA are horrible about profiling people just based on what they drive. If I lived in CA, I might consider getting a pick up... or at least concealing the mods to the inside of the engine bay and not advertising the fact that I'm driving a modified car.

Everyone has their style but shouldn't be downed for that style.
If they like it, then that's all that matters.
