its actually better to have the exahust on that side as far as flow goes. Some engineer at honda was smoking crack when he designed the axle back portion of the exhaust on 88-91 civics and 90-93 tegs. In order to have it come out the "correct" side it has to make 2 90 degree bends.
What a lot of people do is they cut the bumper on the right side exactly the same diameter as the hole on the left where its supposed to be, then use the piece they cut out and glue / bondo / whatever it into the other side.
