How to make my shifting smoother and faster

Hey everyone, I have a DC4. Shifting is rough when shifting from 1st to 2nd. Yet I really am trying to make my car better and better. I love motorsports and Integra's are just outstanding! Anyone know how to make my shifting smoother and faster? Bushings and a short throw? Thanks to all who respond!

Personally, I don't like any short shifter. The bushings couldn't hurt and working on shifting smooth instead of faster is always a good idea.

change tranny fluid....to pennzoil synchromesh (Yellow bottle, best $20 you will EVER SPEND) - have tried all the expensive stuff and what not but this is the best and its sooo much cheaper than the other crap (Redline, royal purple, etc...)

As for making it fast, just learn to drive

What do you mean 'rough'? If your gearbox is bad, be prepared to get another one if you plan on abusing something already in poor health

Nah I didn't explain it very well haha that's my fault. um, i was just wondering if that would be anything to help shift faster in terms of short shifters to where there isn't as much 'throw'. and plus i have about 106k miles on my DC and was thinking my shifter bushings probably would be shot by now. Just getting some opinions

I gotcha, I'll be doing a few misc. suspension upgrades and then probably some Energry Suspension shifter bushings or something along those lines... Thanks for the imput ya'll

I've always had a short throw and never had an issue missing shifts or causing excess damage to my tranny. Some people argue otherwise and say it keeps your gears half disengaged. Others say having a short throw sometimes motivates people to drive like asshats and abuse their cars.

Stock bushing don't tend to go bad, they're just sloppy feeling. My old teg had 220k on it and the stock bushings were fine when I pulled them for the part out. We have a lot of salt and road grime here during winter and really hot summers so I'd think they'd go bad here faster than a lot of places.p
