Alright so about a week ago I'm driving down the main cruise street in Albuquerque (Montgomery Blvd.) and I get pulled over. The cop tells me she pulled me over for having and "illegal muffler" on my car. She told me she heard me leave the same parking lot she was in and in her opinion she thaught it was too loud so I got cited for it.
Last night I was cruising up the same street and got pulled over, this time by a guy cop. He told me "you have an illegal muffler". Well I tell him I was already cited about a week ago a decides to let me go. Before we had left I was talking to him a bit on the subject of "illegal mufflers". I told him that muscle cars, choppers and crotch rockets have no problem with the exhaust and noise ordinance thing. Basically I was telling him that myself and fellow import drivers feel like we are being discriminated against because of the vehicle we drive. The cop said that that wasn't the case and followed up with " Since the movie The Fast and The Furious, import and euro cars have tripled in this city". Tell me in your guys' opinion, is that a stereotype or is it flat out discrimination? I had also made a comment to him that the police are spending their nights pulling people over for mufflers while there are people out their killing, thieving, raping, and dealing and they are spending their time on us. The cop said, and I quote, "When there's no one dying in the city, we are out here catching people for illegal mufflers". Ain't that some shit.
