GSR or LS?

i'd go with the gsr if its in great condition. i bought mine with alot of miles. but the guy also let me take it for a day and run compression and leakdown tests and go over the car from head to toe...plus he was the original owner and had all the service done at acura, so it had a perfect factory service record and carfax. but thats the only way i'd buy a used car anyway. just make sure everything checks out good.

L mother fing S ! The LS has a stronger tranny and more torque. I saw a LS tranny hold 300hp and not fly apart. And it had quite a few miles on it too. Anyone who builds a high hp Teg doesnt use a GS-R tranny thats for sure. Plus the LS has way lower miles on it and it is cheaper on insurance if that matters to u. Some people have alot of points on their license so it would. Plus if u like boost like me LS is way better for a boost set-up than a GS-R. Not tryin' to hate on a GS-R cause they are sweet but I prefer LS power. :drive:

go with the LS. especially if its a special edition because they you get all the good stuff. then just go ls/vtec... cause while your swapping heads itll give you a chance to build up the rest of the motor while you already have it partially taken apart. with all that alone you will be able to stomp on a GSR. and then go turbo just as a smack in the face lol. no offense to GSRs... just trying to make a point. just because one already comes with vtec doesnt mean itll be faster in the long run

but with all that money your gonna spend making it vtec and building the engine so it will beat a gsr you could just build a b18c engine.

What? how many people have you seen build a gsr with an ls? exactly

LS is THE weakest B tranny IMHO...do your research n00bie!

Dont think so. The 99-00 Si tranny is the weakest in my book. I've seen them crumble a mainshaft into two peices plenty of times. And never saw a LS do that. Thats also in the 4 years I worked a Honda Dlrshp. And I only saw 3 w/ an LS tranny up close the others were in magazines. U might be right by the books but this is what I have seen in the past. :rice:

yeah but still, that LS tranny simply has different gearing than the GSR or Type R trans. it's weakest in terms of acceleration characteristics.. and whatnot.

turbo is one thing, boost is another. GSR's are much better for supercharging than LS.

well the sec i knew i was buying the car i would order intake, exhaust, and vafc if its a GSR
but adventually i would be putting even more work into the car maybe a turbo set up or something.
so yes i got plans to mod the car... yet at the same time i want something reliable and im not to sure how strong a GSR with around 100,000 miles on it runs.
but then again its a honda so i really dont think i have much to worry about...

just wanted to see what some other ppl think :)
my GS-R has 150k+ and it would make that 40k LS look silly. if you go Boost there isn't much that you would have to replace/upgrade on the GS-R that you wouldn't have to on the LS.
Besides, see below 8)

GSR and LS are exactly identicle in that they are different...natural selection states that the fittest of the pack win and the rest die like house flys on a stale cake...my point is that neither car is better for boost...and that one cannot make such assumptions without saying "all else held constant"...so the argument above this should contain those words as do other economic statements with their underlying assumptions...thank you and have a nice day :)

Get the GSR, as you stated in the first post it has more power. Who cares if it has 100k miles on it, you know hondas will last you forever if you take care of it. I have 108,000 miles on my 2003 RSX-S right now and it's still running strong.

Im currently looking into buying an integra my options are this an ls with around 40,000 miles on it or an GSR with around 100,000 i have almost enough money in the bank to buy eather and once i sell my car i will have plenty to spend on my new car.
so tell me what you think would be the better of the 2 i mean obviously the gsr is more powerful but will have more miles on it and the advantage to buying the ls is it will have less miles...
what would you do>?

no question about it go for the LS and just build it. thats a 60,000 mile difference thats 5 more years you can have the LS over the GSR and 5 more years of building.
