The first to second synchro goes first 99% of the time. Gears multipy up torque to the drive wheels. The lower the gear, the more it's multiplied. So first gear has the most and second gear is next. The actual gears are large enough that quick shifting and hard engagement isn't nearly as stressful on the large gear teeth compared to the tiny teeth and slots of synchro's. Considering that it's the first gear change.......it is usually the most raped synchro.
