so how bout this shit...i wash my car and clean under the hood.

i figured id let it all dry before starting it so i wait about 25 min and go to crank it up, its running fine and then i go to put it in gear and it just sputters like on a 2 step and then backfired and died.
i try cranking it back up again and it just spins over and over.
so i check timing belt....it jumped time......so i put it back in time which sucks in the dark btw
check plugs and the cylinder closest to the distributor...im guessing 4? was oily, so i cleaned all the plugs and put them back in and fired it up and it sounds ok except that you have to hold your foot on the gas to keep it running and no matter how much gas you give it, it just has a really low idle....im guessing its a fuel related problelm??

please help!!!!

sounds like you got water in the motor.

The first thing I would do is drain the oil and see if the oil in the oil pan has any rainbow color or milky. If it does you got water in the motor. Put a new oil filter and some fresh oil in.

I checked the oil and it looked fine. Also looked in the throttle body and it was dry. There was alittle bit of water inside the distributor so I dried it out and tried again and it just starts sputters and dies. I also checked my main relay and it don't click on the first key click but clicks on the second and when cranking. I also took my fuel pump access plate off and I don't here the pump runing so I've got the parts store getting me one in the morning.

I really hope that's all it is. I'm screwed if somethin major is wrong

yikes! hopefully the fuel pump solution works. so it starts but struggles to stay on?... hmmm...check the connections of the spark plug wires after you removed the plugs... i recently changed my spark plugs and damaged the 3rd wire and the car ran like shit... it idled really low and it would choke on acceleration... i know b17's have low torque but this was bad...lol so i changed all 4 wires and presto! no more low idle and choking!

How exactly did it jump time? Anytime that happens i usually thing of bad things. How far off did it jump? Are you thinking it may have jumped time because it was wet? Do you know if your car is obd-0 or has it been converted to obd-2? If it is obd-0, i got a spare distributor you can try out and see if it works.

This isthe exact reason I won't spray water in my engine bay.

You should check your map and tps sensors

well i was just washing under the hood to clean it up, i let it sit for like 25-30 min before moving it.

im still not sure how it jumped time but it only jumped one tooth. its obd-0 still as far as i know...theres no new wires in the harness and its still got the 90 model ecu in it.

ok so here is the map sensor that IS plugged in with a vacume line going to the intake...

here you can see on the throttle body that there is a map sensor not plugged in...

some more questionable things...
found these two plugs behind the block by the oil filter and in the same harness as the altenator wires......

and for the record there is this line that is plugged coming off ot the fast idle thermo valve....

and these open vacume lines

and is this right? vacume line coming of intake with a one line going to a canastier on the firewall and one goes to something on top of the auto tranny?

Yea I know alot of those plugs have to do with putting a b18b1 in the car. I also have a b18b1 in my car and I know for a fact I have that same green plug just dangling. I have no plug on my throttle body and that is probably why yours is plugged up. I'm guessing you have an aftermarket throttle body or intake manifold. Your problem probably has nothing to do with these plugs and something to do with washing the engine bay or jumping time.

yea i was just wondering what the plugs were for....i was told that my intake is from a stock 98 integra

im still confused on why it jumped time.

if the relay dont fix it....im towing it to a shop

And the reason why your fast idle hose on the thermostat housing is plugged is because your intake manifold is from a 98 which doesnt have a fast idle valve. Normally there is a hose that goes from the thermostat housing to the intake manifold but since your intake manifold doesn't have a fast idle valve, its just capped off. If you want man, you can come get that obd-0 distributor from me and try it out.

hmmm? i have a hose coming off of the intake that is capped off and i have a hose off of the fast idle valve that is capped. i guess thats right? so is my throttle body from a 90 and intake from 98? i knew better than to buy a car that has allready been franksteined but i figured id get it cheap and fix it up to have a nice daily driver.....oh yea i got a spare distributor that i think will work....the one on it now is wrong. the top bolts up but the lower two are way to far apart, someone made alittle braket so only 2 bolts are holding it.

should i be using a 90 model distrib or 98?

The only distributor that will work with your harness is a 90. A 98 distributor wouldn't even plug up. And you shouldn't even have a fast idle valve on a 98 intake manifold. That is probably something else plugged up on the 98 intake manifold.
