Good news Bad news

I didn't really see the need to replace parts I didn't have to when I bought my car, figured I could just do it as old parts gave out.

Bad news: Today I lost a strut and an lca bushing went out. I'm not at all a fan of these lcas so I'm going to be ordering some function7s when I get off work. I don't like the current coilovers(skunk2) either but I haven't finished my research on which ones I'm going to go with. I'm stuck between d2 and ff type2. I'd love to hear what you guys have to say about either.

Good news: new car parts! I'll put up pictures when the parts come in(probably ordering them tonight) and when I install them.

what are you looking to do with you car? Are you going for drivability and comfort? Are you going to be racing like auto-x or road racing?

Everyone has their own opinions.... I would tell you to not do to go with D2 - ive just heard they are crap but my sources could be wrong....im not a crazy fan of FF either because of their 32 way adjustment. I have heard good things about Tein with the EFDC for drivability and comfort.

Here is the thing, when someone goes from stock suspension to a coilover, they are always going to write a good review because ANY coilover is a huge improvement so be cautious when searching for reviews.

With the kick save. Good look. It's going to be a slow build but I'm aiming for auto-x right now.

agreed! my suggestion would be to search around on here for guys who road race and auto X and see what their suspension setups are. Most of their threads give you a true product review because #1 they use multiple suspension products to get an idea of which one they prefer and #2 they use these items as they are intended to be used. Most hard parkers buy $600+ coilover setups just to make their type R lip scrape the ground and thats it.

I haven't even thought of that. Im going to have to get on it. I was pretty much going by word of mouth from setups here around my city.

I've heard nothing but bad things about d2 like no difference between dampening adjustment leak piston rattle etc etc. But some people really seem to love them.

Depending on what you want to do. Koni yellow gc for a auto cross or something with tein s-tech springs for comfortable dd

I haven't heard much good about d2 either. I would look into a Koni Yellow/Ground Control setup.

My review is coming from a stock setup but I would say Koni/gc is a very solid setup for the money it is one of the highest praised setups I've seen when I see these types of threads. The quality is good and if bought from a dealer, the repairs are on some warranty. Depending on your goals you can slam the chit out of them or run stock height, their versatility was my biggest selling point when I got my set.

Looks like I'm going to try out the koni yellow with gc and F7 lca. Probably going to get the lca and gc from jhp but I need to find somewhere else for the koni. What do you guys think?

Good choice on the setup - do you have a local shop that can get them? I'm all about supporting local business if they can get them for a good price.

Otherwise I would just do a google search and see what comes up and take a look at the website and see if it's sketchy or not.

I'm the same way about supporting local business but the town I stay in are more of the big trucks and jeeps type.
Placing an order on jhp I actually found out selecting gc gave me the option to get koni yellow.

I'll update you guys with pictures when they make it in.
