well im planning on turboing my car its got a b18b1 with 222k on it(dont kno if there has ever been any work done to the engine or not or been replaced) and well wondering wat ill have to do to get 250-300 whp
and how much would it cost

Do a compression and leak down test on it first to make sure the engine is healthy. After that find out which turbo will suit your power goals and then piece together a turbo kit (or just buy one).

Look to spend over 2-3 grand.

2-3K? maybe for a kit. if you look and find good quality used parts you can be under 1K and thats with a tune.. probaly hard to find something to tune off of like hondata but it can be done otherways..

will get the compression test done tomorrow probly

Get a ebay turbo they're super cheap and just hook it up and drive off dude it's so easy cost about 600 bucks.

ya i wont go for a ebay turbo after wat happend to my friends car and ty ill read up

well i read and i dont kno wat size ar i would want
cuz its my dd but yet as my dd it likes to be around that 7kish range allot
and ill be using it for draging this summer against friends at our drag track

To answer your question your going to need a fuel pump, I suggest Walbro. Some fuel injectors, at very least 440cc. An intercooler and piping. The turbo itself, maybe a T3/T4 turbo. As well as a manifold and downpipe. I'd go with a log manifold for simplicity and cost effective. A 3" exhaust system is "recommended." A blow off valve and wastegate.. As for tuning, you should find a tuner and ask what they prefer to tune with.

There is a lot to get into, take a look at the link posted, if you need more research links PM me and I will send you a few.

And personally with 222k on the motor, I wouldn't risk it. Even if your seals are good, your bearings are probably nearing the end of their life. Maybe rebuild the engine and then turbo it?

The cost all depends on what quality your going with. At very least expect to spend $1500.

ya for turbo parts i kno wat i need its just every thing els i need i dont kno but ty for letting me kno about that
and i planned on goin bigger exhaust
and ya i kno 222k is allot i kinda wanted to rebuild it cuz i dont want it to all fall apart after i put the turbo on

sounds good
wat about to get 300 so say when i wanna go up to the drag track how would i go about that
would i get it tuned to 300ish hp and then just turn down boost for DD

It's all in the tune. I can't really say for switching off HP like that.. to get to 300 you would need a bit more into it. Bigger injectors, probably a better manifold, ect ect.

I've heard talk about needing a new MAP sensor and possibly a catch can setup, but you'd better let one of the guys that know a bit more chime in about that. Not to mention 300hp isn't as reliable on stock internals as 230hp.
