Gas Prices Update

All I know is I dropped $20 worth of 94 octane in the GSX earlier and it gave me over 3/4 a tank. And it was almost at the gas light before hand.

Gas prices are right where they need to be. This is perfect. And to all of those that wish for cheaper, I promise you don't want that. Gas doesn't need to get any cheaper, this is perfect. For people who think $1 a gallon is a good idea, you're way off. At that point, it's no longer a profitable business and they (we) will stop drilling. No drilling = no oil = America falling on it's face. We are right in the meat of the curve where it needs to be. Decent price for the consumer and still profitable to the industry. Just think for a second about what happens if it gets too cheap and becomes unprofitable.

Of course, as some know, the higher prices will bring me more money and think I'm biased. But just consider what happens if it was to go too low. Companies stop drilling because it is unprofitable or not worth the time, investment etc., companies stop making parts for drilling and it's a steady downward slope from there

That's a good argument.
I don't see oil going up as high as it was earlier this year any time soon with this global economic slowdown happening. Slower economies = less oil usage. Plus if it dropped lower it'll put more money in regular people's pockets, which in turn they'll either spend on items (and Christmas is coming soon) which'll help the economy and jobs, pay off credit card bills, or just squirrel away. Winter time will raise oil usage in the U.S., but it'll be offset by the slow economy, gas will probably rise a bit from where it is now. Unless OPEC decides to cut production mor and more, or a major international incident happens, I don't think gas will get up over $3 this winter.
I'd be comfortable with gas between $1.50 and $2, I won't ask for any lower than that.

Remember Joe Biden got caught on tape PROMISING and GUARANTEEING a major international incident will occur if Obama get's elected in the first 6 months of his administration in order to test him? hhmmmm

We can forget about new drilling now, Obama doesn't want any new drilling, or any nuclear power plants for that matter. He wants our cars to run on pixie dust and unicorn hair I guess. There's your Hope and Change.

I just paid $1.97 for regular @ Sam's. :)

This is awesome!! It's just the same price as it was when I first started driving in 2001.

1.90 at most stations around here.

one station is offering 1.82 for 83 octane if you pay in CASH.

1.90 credit/debit
1.82 cash

not too bad at all.

i agree, this is perfect. too much lower, and people will start pissing and moaning when prices start going up, even in the slightest degree.

i can live with gas prices in this range, with a .20c "give or take" leeway.

I wouldnt complain of gas goes up a little either. I paid $2.08 for 93 today...thats cheaper than when I bought the SRT back in late 05. $25 for a full tank, it was awesome

The fact that gas prices have dropped so dramatically in such a short period of time makes me question why it got so expensive anyways.....

1.88 for 87 and 2.15 for 93 at the Exxon here in Knoxville

I remember when gas was 87c and I paid 1.20 when I started driving.
