of course it can be installed. just that you need to do everything else like source manifold, run oil/water lines.

most likely it's a stock turbo off another car, it'll have an internal wastegate so you need a dump pipe to suit it. should be easy enough once you know what car it"s from but then you will need a exhaust shop to join it to your current exhaust.

rebuilding you just need a T25 cartridge from garret, any turbo shop can put that into the existing housing and put in new seals. if there's no shaft play in the turbo and spins freely you could probably get away with new seals only.

then there's the cost of all of this. sure it can be done but why not just get a bolt on kit instead of $$$$ing arounnd with a blown T25. you could pick up a working one for cheap. besides, for a 1.8L engine you should run a T28.

Personally- I'd pick up a t28, go on a 300zx forum- there's a center cartridge people buy and put in- which is a pretty decent upgrade.

Welll damn, sounds like to much work!

how much is a T28, if it's a bolt on kit.. how much work will it require..
it's either i but the t25, or save up for another one..
I'm a poor high school student! lol, so any info will helpp!

will i need to save for a intercooler, BOV etc?

If you buy the T28 turbo off your friend, you will still need to:

Rebuild the turbo with new garret internals/seals

Mock up your dump pipe as mentioned earlier.

Acquire a manifold, downpipe, intercooler, BOV, necessary piping and connectors, etc.

You will also need to purchase a tunable ECU, or chip your current ECU because a tune is necessary when you add boost. This however woud be necessary regardless of whether you bought a kit, or just built around the T28.

The T28 isn't a bad option. If you live in a big city or have a few buddies that are into the scene, you can probably source out some good components fairly quickly and piece it together how you want to.

A kit is a more simple option though. You may or may not save money, depending on the way you locate parts. Installation will be much more simple though, and you will be able to get on it quicker.

Well i appreciate the help man, I'm not sure what i want to doo..
I have people who do have parts and stuff, but i don't they're are willing
to give out random parts. they are probably wanting to sell everything
as a hole. That's why i wasn't sure, if i bought this T25, if rebuilding it
and getting other parts cheapier..

Where could i get a t28?

there's a t25 with rebuild kit for 450 on NJ craigslist. Keep your eye out ok craigslist everyday, you'll find awesome deals

Stock 300ZX turbo is a T25. Most people on aus300zx give them away and my friend back home was offering me his pair of perfectly working T25s for free. I can't see a blown one being worth more than a penny.

The stock T25 off 300ZXs vary depending on whether it's off a auto or manual Z. Stock manual turbos will flow more air. Still, they can be picked up real cheap.

If you want a brand new T28 on the cheap then wait for the next deal on 300zxclub to come up. There are heaps of variations too, a high flowed T25 which has the T28 turbine (less lag than a full T28 but with 1.8Ls it won't really be an issue). Then there's the T28BB unit off the JDM S15 Silvia which is by far one of the best stock turbos fitted to any Nissan.

In terms of ease and LOW cost as you mentioned, still can't beat a kit and TBH that's what I'd be looking into first.
