I've been trying both. Not sure which way launches faster. They feel about the same.
You can hold it in gear longer if you manually shift it. Just watch the rev limiter (it's somewhere around 7.3k-7.6k). If you have the throttle mashed, you can shift it to the next gear at 6,900rpm and keep it mashed and it'll shift into the next gear right before redline. Works like a dream.

Yeah, although manually shifting the trans is bad for it. I'll play with it at the track and see what yields better results.

I haven't noticed any issues with it. But yeah; that'd be the best way to figure out which one is faster I'm sure.
How many passes are you going to try and make?
Also, have you played with tire pressure and 'tire warming' yet?

Not sure how many passes I'm going to make. I haven't played with pressures yet and I'll attempt warming the tires maybe. These futuras are horrible.

I wouldn't run them any lower than 20psi, and since your tires are almost shot as it is, might as well smoke em' up before you get new ones. They wet the front of the track down for that exact reason. :)

The people I've talked to say 22 to 26lbs. The tires are practically new. They only have 12k miles on them. They just suck. I always smoke them. Lol

Lol. In that case, I'd start with the happy medium and go with 24lbs. :)

My best time of the night was a 17.1, but my passenger side rear caliper is locked up. I'm sure I can get it into the16's.
