Full swap or just engine?

Do i really need to do a full swap, the tranny, the ecu and the engine. Or can i just swap the engine with my gs motor. Will that make a difference, will the tranny and the engine interfer if i have my stock gs tranny and the B16a motor? I wanna know because im trying to save money on not buying things i dont need. I can get the engine for about $1000 shipped and the whole swap is about $1600 before shipping so, im on a tight budget and my motor isnt going to last to much longer. Does anyone have any tips for me?

I'd do the entire engine swap because the tranny you have has long gears the B16 tranny has shorter gears that allow you to get up to speed faster. Also, you must get a ECU because the engine won't run right without it. The ECU runs the redline, VTEC engagement, A/F, etc. You can't use your stock ECU.

If you want some more details on this matter check out this awesome website www.hondaswap.com. That might help you out more, but I'm pretty sure you have to have all of that.

well now...
its better to throw the extra money now then spend three times what you paid for the motor later to get it running (because that shit always happens :x ) so i'm with the rest of the crowd

How much on average do you think someone will charge to do the entire motor swap? Is the B16 a good swap for the integra. Does it matter which B16 you get or just as long as its compatible to my car.

Not sure what a motor shop will charge you, but you'll probably spend a chunk... It's not a hard thing to do at all.
Are you stuck on getting a B16? If so, I'd go B16A. Hell, I did. It's what came in the DA integra xsi from japan. So yes it is compatible to your car. If not stuck on B16, you have alot of choices of motors, or motor combinations, that are compatible. Except K series. Unfortunately no motor mounts as of yet for the DA, cuz I want a K24 block with K20 Head!!!!!
Are you wanting something that pulls hard as hell, or a DOHC VTEC? The DA's pretty heavy, so a naturally aspirated, sotck internal B16A, or B16A2 isn't going to be all that. A stock internal LS/VTEC or B20/VTEC are both inexpensive builds. More torque + VTEC head.
My vote is for an ITR B18C jumped back to obd1 of course.$$$$
Which ever motor you choose, I think a motor shop will reeme you on the swap.
