Found my idle rev, i hope.

There is a hole in the screen mesh in my IAC valve. I have no clue how it got there, but the new part is $130. can i "ghetto rig" this and save my self money, or does this hole make no difference?

At cold temperatures, the engine revs up and down more dramatically than at hot. At hot, the engine revs lesser each time three times till it stabilizes.

You might want to look for a used one online to replace yours. You should be able to find one for around $30.

I dont know if it really matters, may cause the part to fail faster because it doesn't filter out small particulates. It looks really dirty though on the unfiltered side!
