Eclipse/Talon Turbo - Is it worth turboing?

i received a FREE 2nd gen T25 turbo from a eclipse/talon. after doing some research, i relized that it would be a lot of work involved, and mostly custom stuff. I was planning to safely boost the gsr for daily driving and also keeping the a/c. i was wondering if this is possible to do and is it worth it? the turbo is free so i would have to buy everything else that is required.

i need some opinions and ideas about turboing the 4dr gsr with a stock T25 turbo from a eclipse/talon.

go for it man it's actually cheaper to build up your own kit. You should be able to keep the a/c in if you get a manifold that is a/c compatable such as revhard or drag. And yea that turbo will spool up real fast you'll probably be at full boost by 2300 rpms. Go for it  :thumbs up

Dont forget spoolin performance, they have a nice log manifold that will let you keep your a/c.

The t25, is a nice turbo for a d series, build up, ill spool fast but the pressure will drop at high rpm, the internal wastegate on it is set at 8psi but it will drop to about 5 psi, I say sell it and get a garret t3 or hybryd t3/t4, with and internal wastegate, it wil run about at 8psi accross the board, but it might spike up to 10 psi, but at least get an apexi safv so you can compensate for the fuel to run on the safe side, get some DSM 450 cc injectors, it will be enought up to 12 psi

yea, thats what i was thinkin, it'd be perfect if i still had my civic [ d16y8 - EX ] , but i wasn't sure performance wise it'd be that great on a b-series. then again its for daily driving so it shouldn't really do any harm.... i hope. i'd love to sell it and get a t3/t4 but eh.... this is gonna be a low budget turbo build. prolly gonna be lurking on ebay/craigslist for parts. i'll upload the pics of the turbo in a bit

This style. Also Drag, Revhard, and InlinePRO cast manifolds are sometimes referred to as log manifolds.

Any shaft play?
when i spin the turbine it spins freely but there is little shaft play where i have to apply a lil pressure, i think i can spray some wd-40 to help it? is that bad/good to do that?

BTW, anyone know how much this turbo is worth? its hard to find a manifold compatable with a T25 for a b-series. figured i might as well try and get a t3/4 since there are more parts available.

why not keep the gsr as a dd and pick up a 2g or a civic for this project?
