DSM's have a series of plagues to them. wiring for some reason always shorts out, and the engines arent very reliable once your running in the 13's. in the words of DSM owners "DSM's have two stages, broken and not broken yet" and "I'll be lucky if I can get down the street without blowing it up, but it'll be a fun street!!" yes DSM's are fast but not reliable. if your thinking of purchasing a turbocharged car from the factory then buy a nissan 240sx and swap in an SR20DET, or a WRX, or an SRT-4. thats my .02

I am with Inline on this one. Although the Eclipses look good, they have been plagued by problems. Crankwalk for one is a big issue with DSM's and that means a new engine, not cool. Why get rid of the teg if you can smoke the car you plan on buying?

you could search the net for a 240sx. SR20DET swaps arent too expensive. $6-8K is plenty. thats what I would do. www.nippon-motors.com and www.ardperformance.com have swaps. why do you need a 95' and newer though?

A 15.0 is barley slower than a stock Type R, and faster than a GSR. And I agree, Eclipses look hot but are high maintenance cars and kill your wallet, hmmmm, sounds like most hot chicks I know...
The choices are pretty limited for a stock turboe'd car in that price and age range. Toyota made an AWD turbocharged Celica from 1990-1993, I love that body style Celica. The 1993's are extremely rare (less than 100 sold), the 92's are rare too, but not as rare as the 93's. I use to have a 1990, but it was only a GT.

wow, there's allot of missinformation in this post.

i'm a long time dsm'er.... the ONLY reason i now own a gsr is because i needed a slow car that wouldnt get me into trouble like my dsm's did.

1) 4g63 is the motor used in all turbo eclipse's and EVERY MITSUBISHI EVO ever made. incredible motors
2) they run 15 flat stock 1/4, but for ~$1200 in mods you can be in the 13's easily...... $1200 on an integra wont even get you i/h/e
3) forced induction will respond better to even the slightest mods than n/a cars, it takes much more money to make honda's fast
4) crankwalk is only in the early 2g turbo dsm's and very very rare, 1g dsm's and later 2g's have lower occurances of crankwalk than anything honda's put out.

honduh is just a temporary phase to get my driving record cleaner, i call it my "slow econobox phase"

if i dont get an srt4 within the next week, i'll be looking for another dsm

oh shit! our beloved modd todd is actually one of our arch rivals!! the DSM kids!! hahaha just playin' we're all car people. I have a few friends that own 1g GST's and GSX's and one that owns a 2g GST and they have all blown up or had wiring problems. they all say those sayings too. thats why I said what I said. oh yeah and the kid with the 2g GST got whooped by a D16 powered civic with a T25 snail. the civic was running 9psi and the GST was pushing 20psi. that thing has mad problems.

the problem with older dsm's is that kids buy them and fuck them up.... the key is to find a completely unmodded dsm.
i've had 2 12 second dsm's, both were reliable daily drivers

I'm sorry todd but $1200 not getting you an I/H/E on a honda is simply not true. my brother just bought a header/exhaust/camber kits/coil-overs all for $500. and when my friend spock turboed his LS he spent $1200 total for T3/T4 turbo(turbonetics) HKS style mani, TiAL 38mm WG, TiAL BOV, custom piping, DP, Spearco IC, Vortech FMU, autometer boost and oil press guages, pod, and all misc hardware/oil lines/ clamps etc.. and sage spent that much when he turboed his DB teg(92-93 4-door) also another friend named trevor who I mentioned already in this post bought a full turbo kit for his civic EX for $1000. you just have to know where to look my good man. 8)

Gsrs arent that slow, if you wanted a slow car why didnt you get a chevy cavalier or something since your dissing hondas so badly, and if you're a dsm person stay off the moderating for club integra, you dont deserve to be one, i might be banned but oh well, i have to stand up for my integra and hondas
