Dry Ice Intake

wow, this is crazy. has anyone ever seen this before? It says it has a peak hp gain of only 11.2, but it sure is something to impress your friends with. heres the link:

racers in the 70s would build a box that fuel would travel through that would have dry ice in it, it cools the fuel down a ton which can act like nitrous

they sell dry ice at some grocery stores for like 2 something a lb.

You can make one of those ghetto style for just the price of the dry ice. All you gotta do is put like a panty hose thing on the end of your intake pipe, take a piece of dry ice put it in your filter and put the filter back on and there ya go.........Well I think that's how it is made. I haven't done it yet cuz I always for get.....

I didn't know about that fuel thing. I might try that some time.

DownshiftGSR: you dont want to put dry ice in you filter, that will not get you anywhere. Does anyone know what Dry Ice is? It is frozen CO2. SO you dont want to ingest that in the intake pipe. And 11.2 HP sounds actually quite reasonable since you get about a 1% increase in HP for every 1 degree C you drop. Also since Dry Ice Sublimes( goes from Solid to Gas) you would not have to worry about dumping out any water or anything. Good post.

I wonder if that 11.2 HP is over stock or over a traditional CAI?

Like I had said, that's what I've heard. I don't know anyone nor have I seen it done ghetto style. I just here people talk about that's what you could do. Maybe you don't put it in your air filter, maybe you put it somewhere else, hell I don't know..................if anyone does know how to ghetto rig it, post it up.
