UUUHHHH-OOOOHHHHHHH...!!!
I doubt I'll be out there, seeing as to how I'm afraid of getting in murky water. lol Plus, a couple of my cousins are gonna be in town visiting. I'm not sure when they're leaving, but I'm sure I'll have to host them until they do.

My girls and I are planning a trip out the Cache Creek at the end of the month sometime, though. You should come.

and the best comment ive read so far

This is the no brainer way to solve a problem, ban it! Take away the rights of others because some organized special interest group was able to make their case to Arnold and sneak this one in. Why not put some resources towards education on safety on the river, resposibility, and law enforcement? Because the people who got this through probably has never known and will never know the feeling of floating down the beautiful American River surrounded by good friends and family around you all with big smiles on their faces. The warm sun is shining down on your shoulders as you celebrate the fine feeling with an ice cold sip of beer. Aaahhhh. I hope people aren't serious about banning it for good. Let those that really go to the rivers and enjoy that part of Sacramento decide, not a bunch of uptight, paranoid, hard liners that want to make up rules for everyone all the time. You know Arnold in his younger days would have called them all girliemen for putting that weak bill on his desk.

Eehhh. Who cares? Do it anyway...lol

No, but they're really cracking down on drinking this weekend in Sac. I guess it serves as a warning for the 4th. They set up a couple check points in my area, which is out of the norm. I hear Roseville has a bunch set up, too. Then again, Roseville people are pricks.

looks like enforcement is only gonna kick in hard from sunrise to goethe though ... i think the reason the ban is from hazel to watt is cause they didnt want the party to move up or downstream

the republicans are pissed that the govenor passed this

doing anything is dangerous

i dont need the government to step in because other people are fucking morons, espeically those kids who died in the drunk driving accident. THEY CHOSE TO GET IN THAT CAR. THEY KNEW HE WAS DRINKING.

Bullshit. Its proven fact that drunk drivers kill more innocent bystanders, then the passengers of their own cars or themselves. As a man who has lost people to drunk driver, its just plain stupid. Theres no excuse whatsoever to drive or do anything that requires a clear head while drinking. I've drank WAY to much than I care to admit, and never had to have my car keys taken because even while severly(sp) intoxicated I knew better. Swimming is one of those activities, where its very unlikely that if your drunk you'll kill other people. -BUT- Personally I wish the drunk driving laws were STRICTER.

EDIT: I do tend to agree that morons can f_ck things up for the rest of us, but I don't think THIS is one of them. I get SO sick of going to a beautiful , peaceful river and seeing nothing but beer cans floating on the surface. And hearing drunk baffoons making asses of themselves.
