The majority of people who want to get into "the lifestyle" a after seeing "the movie" (READ: don't know the difference between a DOHC and a SOHC) rice the f*ck out their cars, it's not even funny. Posuers. They go out thinkin' they're all badasses flossing 'tezza's and trunk-mount benches "racing" from stoplight to stoplight; gives sport compacts a real good image. Though, most of the people you meet on the boards really know their stuff (or at least claim to) take a look around and you'll know that ain't always the way it is. Think about it man, before--the majority of cars were actually decent. After "the movie" bad taste popped out everywhere. And you can bet a good majority of them don't know the first thing about cars. It takes a few laughs and a lot of crying, wining and ass whoopin' to set them straight. And you know what? I wounldn't be surprised if someone who ground the gears smooth on an orange Bomex Supra rices out his first "real car."
Did you yourself not read the article you posted? Having money has nothing to do with having the knowledge to actually turn a bolt, much less fix up a car. Nowhere in the article is it stated that "Brian" himself even did any of the work on the car. He simply hired the Motorex chief to do the work for him. I guess if you got the money, you can drive whatever you want. Let's just hope "F&F graphics" aren't next on his list of mods.
Maybe, he won't rice it out. Make the world a better place. Not all people who are a fan of "the movie" become or are ricers. I actually like the second part but the race scenes are "eh" compared to the first. But it has attracted more attention than most of us would have liked. And still don't know why did RJ or Craig would let so much incorrect terms and scenes slip into the movie.
