does anyone know the difference between b18b1 and b18c1(gsr)?

I heard rumor that its just a different head and the v-tech, also does anyone know if the gsr head would fit with the b1 block?

The blocks are different too. GSR blocks have oil squirters that squirt oil up underneath the pistons, circled here:



They help keep the pistons lubricated during high revving, LS's don't rev as high as GSR's so they didn't get the squirters.

The parts are exchangeable from the GSR, ITR into the B18B1 except the Intake manifold and header that's where you have to modified to make it fit.

Lol just messing with you. The difference is whats been stated above. The B18C is the higher performance, VTEC equipped motor.

Bing is your friend my man.. There are many many difference. Even Wikipedia has a great write up on the B-series power plants.


b16 head = itr head without the hand polishing from the factory.

I prefer b16 over gsr head but thats just me.
