Dead in the water.

I have a stock 93 integra ls 5 sp manual that died on me going down the interstate. I was doing 70 and the rpm gauge dropped to 0 and the motor had no power. I tried to start it back up but no luck. while towing it to my house i put it in gear with the key in run and found that the rpm gauge did not function even though i knew for sure the motor was doing about 2-3k from towing. At my house i found that fuel pump runs for two seconds when you turn on the ignition and you can turn the motor over but it does not start. i jumper-ed the wires to pull the check engine light but it just stays on. it does not cycle just stays on.

if its turning over and not starting, youre either not getting spark or fuel. check for those and come back to us

no spark:
distributor cap/rotor
distributor
spark plugs/wired

no fuel:
fuel pump
fuel filter
fuel rail

Start easy by taking off the distributor cap and make sure the rotor didn't come loose. Then move onto checking for gas and spark. I just always start at the easiest point and work to the harder causes.

I would suspect that the distributor rotor screw came loose and hopped out of place...
Check to see if it rotates freely or can just be pulled off.

Unless you were low on oil and screwed up your engine.

I removed the distributor cap and the rotor screw was in place and the rotor looked in good condition. I getting fuel at the fuel rail. my oil is fairly clean and full. I cranked the engine for about twenty seconds and then took a spark plug out and it was dry. I thought it shout be wet with gas. i have not checked the timing belt, bet i changed it about eight months ago when i changed the water pump. what does it mean that the CEL stays solid when i have the service wires jumpered?

Are you getting any spark ?
does the ecu flash ?

I removed a plug and cranked the engine and no spark. there is no check engine light on unless i jumper those two wires then it just stays on steady. also when the car died the rpm gauge read 0 even tho the engine was spinning as i was coasting to a stop, but every other gauge worked.

if you're not getting spark it's going to be something with the distributor like coil, icm or the whole dizzy is going bad.do you know anyone that would swap it out to see if it is the dizzy.take off you're valve cover to make sure the belt is on

i'm not sure how to test the components inside the cap. I dont have anyone to swap anything with. Shouldn't I be throwing a code?

Remove the distributor and see if the rotor turns while you crank the motor.
(OR)
Remove the valve cover.

That would at least confirm that it's electrical and your timing belt is either good or bad.

the rotor spins. i did replace my timing belt a[bout 6k miles when i replaced my water pump.

i replaced the icm and the coil but i still have not spark. I bought a light probe and retested the new icm and it lights up for a second then turns off the when you stop cranking the car it turns back on for a second,
