Like everyone says anything other than a EX shouldn't give you a problem. Driver error has a bunch to do with it as well. I kept up with my homie's GSR tiil about 3rd gear with my 88 CRX Si, but that was b/c he couldn't drive. B18's are pretty torquey for a Honda motor. If you are auto, then it might be closer. Otherwise you should be able to take him.
