DA9 GS Build

I had an old thread that kinda died when my car died and now I'm stepping back and doing everything right this time.

First for a reintroduction, my name is Nathan Carmona. I'm 17. I live in Va. I'll be going to George Mason this fall to get a degree in Computer Game Design or videography. In the mean time, I'm working on getting my ASE certification cause what I really wanna do is be a mechanic.

Enough about about me, here's my car:

I got it back in february and it was fine for a while but recently is stopped starting and I've replaced everything in the ignition system just about so it's gotta be bad wiring somewhere.

1990 acura integra gs B18A1 with a 91ls tranny

-short ram intake
-skunk2 lowering springs with 2.5" drop
-skunk2 front upper control arms
-ngk plugs and plug wires
-azul speed5 17" rims
-crappy 6k HIDs

It will be garaged in about a week (as soon as I can borrow a car trailer).

My plans:
-b18c1 completely built..............I'm looking for 300hp while staying N/A
-b16 tranny
-shave the side moldings
-weight reduction
-racing seats
-5 point harnesses
-strut bars and maybe roll cage
-tein h tech springs on tokico hp blues
-blox camber kits
-rear lower tie rods
-rota track 15" rims with nittos
-custom 2.25" exhaust all the way through with flowmaster series 40 muffler

Just finished the basic weight reduction

removed:
-rear seat
-all interior paneling behind the front seats
-rear seatbelt stuff
-rear speakers, amp, and sub

I plan on getting light weight racing seats and removing some of the unnecessary a/c stuff cause I'm doing an a/c delete. I want to have air and defrosters and heat but the ac condenser and the evaporator are going

Will post pics soon

wassup dude, i hope you dont mind me giving you some friendly advice.

What are you building your car for? dd/autox/time attack?

"-b18c1 completely built..............I'm looking for 300hp while staying N/A"
A lot of people set this as a goal but im letting you know right now that 300whp from an N/A gsr is going to be a hard task that requires lots of time and money. Honestly you would be happy to hit at least 200 whp on an n/a with lots of research.

Weight reduction on a dd is kinda pointless and might attract police and thieves that pass by your car.

Save up for your engine build. Dont buy pointless things you dont need yet like a bucket seat, harness, roll cage if your car isn't much faster than it was when it came out the factory .

The most important thing I can tell you is Research as much as you can. You have a da and your putting in a gsr/si tranny. Get a helms service manual for your car and again, Research is the key to your build.

Good luck with your build bro :thumbs up.

I'm building the car for the track but I don't wanna have to carry it there. I wanna be able to drive my track car to the track... get what I'm saying? It's not gonna be a daily but I want to have it state registered and have it pass inspection.

300 hp is my goal. I know I probably won't get that but I would like to have at most a 10 pound car. I was shooting for 7 but we'll see. I'm doing a gsr but I'm doing like 84mm pistons, a zero balanced crank, hi compression valves, im decking the head, im doing stage 3 cams. I'm going all out and I'm definitely doing the research :)

Nice DA man. What are your plans for her?
I was thinkin gsr swap and building it up to like 10 or 12:1 compression but IDK if I wanna pay 4+ dollars a gallon for race gas cause I want to drive around a bit but also take it to a track so that would get expensive.

Now I'm thinkin ls turbo

Either way, I'm doing track worthy suspension and racing seats, 5 point harnesses, maybe roll cage, shaving the side moldings, 92/93 front clip conversion, more weight reduction, Rota tracks, and maybe some more funky stuff. Money comes slow to me so by the time I'm ready to buy this stuff I will probably have changed my mind some lol

First comes first, I'm pulling it up to the garage I'm gonna work on it in and pulling the engine and tranny and then shaving the side moldings.

We'll see where it goes from there :) Im excited!

I'd like to be competitive for ROTM when its done cause I don't think a DA has ever won :twisted::twisted:

I dont think you can pass state inspection with a roll cage. You would have to grease some gears to do that.

I've got connctions ;) not many but I don't have to worry about passing inspection. But IDK if I'm really gonna need the roll cage. I don't plan on rolling it ;) lol
