low oil huh..i'll check in the morning when i have time. It only does it when i take off in first gear it seems as if the rpms dip and when it dips the light flashes on once then i drive off and no more light at all till i get back in a position were im at a dead stop and its time to put it back in 1st gear. If i rev it and hold it past 1k rpm it will not blink the oil light, its only when i take off and the rpms dip lower than 200.
Whats the mileage on the block?
If you got bad valve seals or rings, could be going through some quarts here and there depending on how much you drive. My car has 205k on it and I go through about a quart every 2 weeks. Sucks, but now my car is like hesiating, so I believe the oil pump is starting to go as well. No oil pressure light yet though thank god!
what do you mean hesitating?? should i worry about the problem that i have, what could be causing it?
your oil is low, when you take off, the oil sloshes to the back of the pan and the pickup is sucking air.
20-50 is actually the best oil you can use if you plan on running your car hard.
Sometimes it will take a bit to go as soon as you step on the gas and also if you slowly stepping on the gas increasing speed, you can feel a slight decrease in power here and there, so not sure what it is.
im not going to "read this" because thats not the case, your bearing tolerances were designed for use with 5w30 motor oil, not 20w50. Its a proven fact that if you use a oil that is beyond what the motor is built for you will scar your bearings.
maybe 100k, im not to sure. i got the engine from my buddy that had bought it at about 60k to 70k drove it for about 4 months then had it sitten their till i picked it up about a year and a half ago. so im thinkin it has about 100k on it.
i checked my oil in the morning before anything and it was half a quart over the fill limit so i drained the half out and now it sets just below the full mark.
