a better way to check the fuel pump is to take the little screw out of the top where the pump is on top of the intake manifold, and only turn the ignition to accessories, and if fuel does squirt out, then your fuel is good, which leaves spark..

If you are parked on a hill and low on gas your car might not start.

First I would check for a spark, then fuel pressure.
I would think the coil went bad.
