change cluster needle color

i see that not all part of the needles are lighted up all the way to the tip. i think you were supposed to sand the underside a little bit before applying the new paint. the roughness on the needles is what spread the lights throughout evenly.

so what kind of paint and brand do you use. i've been trying to find time to get mine done for years now.

Who's aren't? Mine do light up all the way, just the way the camera was in relation to the needles made it hard to see each one lit, but they all are :) no sanding needed here.

Paintwise, I just used Testors model paint, worked like a charm

my needles look like that in pictures too. vut in reality, its lit up all the way.

ah thanks. ill go look for testers. i remember that brand, i've used it before on small models.

What is the best way to remove and install the needles so nothing gets messed up?? I really can't have my needles messed up lol.

Did I ever add this to the How To list? Guess i'll check and add it if it's not..
Good write up. I painted the white needles on my DA to orange. I like the look a lot better. :D

i guess. i noticed in your pics that the metal rod didnt come off with the needle. mine pulled the metal rod out. haha
