CEL came on. Rough/stall idle at red lights

Update, I looked at the dizzy cap and rotor and the rotor had slight wear but no serious damage, the cap looked clean no marks or corroding on the silver pieces so what do I check next.

The car started up just fine a little slow but it started and after a few sec of revving to 1.5 it stayed there but I didn't drive it because I don't want cause damage when im not sure why the idle is so poor.

Should i just go ahead and clean the throttle body and IACV? new O2 sensor?
Another thing when i turn my car off the engine shakes. New motor mounts?

You have an issue with the ignition you know that, just replace the cap, rotor, wires, and plug. If it sounds like something is loose on the distributor then it's a know brainer to at least replace the rotor.

We dont know for a fact if he has an ignition issue.

OP, are you still not throwing any codes? if so, fix them and then we can continue...

He said the distributor sounded like something was loose. Did that just go away? Id say that is a known issue that needs to be addressed...

Yes that problem went away it the cap was very loose and after messing around with it the noise went away. STILL NO CODES I don't know why :)

I took my car to my mechanic and after 3 people including myself looking over the distributer, throttle body, iacv, fitv, intake manifold, and checking for any vacuum leaks the car is still acting funny.

My mechanic said that the computer was going out. Everything else is checking good and my car just wont function properly even after having the entire head rebuilt.

You guys have been great and thanks for all the help. And watching many videos and getting my hands nasty lol8)

If my cars computer is really going out how can i check? I think for my 95 LS the computer is a p74 or p75. Where should i get these as im not very familiar with ECU or tuning.

That is weird that the ecu would go out without throwing any codes.
Normally, when it goes out, you get alot of random codes.

I wonder if what ever was loose in the distributer feel out when you took it apart and you didn't see it?

There were 2 times when i was driving the car and the CEL came on but then immediately the car died. So I had no time to pull codes and after it went out it never came back on until a earlier this week but then the same thing happend. The CEL comes on and then the RPM's wont stay consistent and the car dies.

After tightening the distributor and overlooking everything and driving around a little bit the Maintence Required Light came on how can I check this.

Is there anyway to check my ECU? The Maintence Required Light is on but I dont see anything about this light pulling codes.

Yes post a clear video. Also, a lot of mechanics blame the ecu when they have no idea. Usually its cause they are just wrench turners, meaning they aren't usually smart, but they are can use tools. Ecu issues generally aren't intermittent.

Ecu's rarely die and if they do they dont run the engine at all, not half assed like this. Youre mechanic has no idea whats causing this.
