Buy Online Or Car Shop???

Which do you guys go to more? the local tuner shop or websites on the internet.

although the internet has cheaper prices, its just the fact that it takes longer to get, they dont install it for u, so it might be 100 dollas cheaper, but after shipping + installation kinda the same as a shop. and the matter of trust quailty and customer service.

which one do u guys use more?

I use to be all local shop and no internet. But after a while and learning how to do your own install, it really doesn't matter. What I usually do is get the price from the shop then find the price on the net is cheaper and go to the shop and say that the internet sells them for this price and the shop will usually give it to me for the internet price. My advice is buy from either one and do your own installation.

hmm..thats not a bad idea, trying to get the Apexi N1 Catback, they want 550 + Tax for it, but cant be too cheap when it comes to my baby u kno. let me try that and see if i can get it down a lil. thx

i used to buy strictly from shops, but i would find prices and have them match it. but i would still have to pay shipping and handling and taxes. but ive pretty much been buying strictly on the net, prices are better, plus no taxes, better availability

I buy only from online. actually most of the parts on my car are second hand, then it is even cheaper. The waiting part doesnt bother me, i just have to plan ahead.

3. www.ebay.com (more like russian rollet when you buy at ebay)

ebay prices are too good to be true, its tempting but i rather be safe, wanna *sigh* save save save,

i get good stuff on ebay.

what i try to do is read the seller reviews and ask the seller about the product before i bid.

also i dont buy anything from ebay that have complicated moving parts. ie water pump,motors, electrical stuff

shop is best, u can always get them 2 bring down the prices. i only shop online when i dont care if the item is used. like buying stuff on forums honda-tech , sho, etc...........

i use both it depends on how fast i need it and then what kind of part. i'm with slikk with the point on moving parts i use the local shop for those.

I always question the shop on their knowledge. Like I'll find out everything about a product then I'll ask the shop about it and catch their bullshit. That's when I don't buy from them.
