so after all i decided to build my DA instead of investing into a DC...im not going to be boosting or lsvtec neither....just plain b18a power...so far of the items i chose are crower 404's crower, crower dual valve springs and titanium retainers, megan racing 4-2-1 header, ctr pistons, skunk2 adj cam gears ,arp bolts,im unsure of what kind of high flow cat & exhaust to go with...with this said and done is it neccesarry to upgrade on rods?or will my stock ones do just fine?

your stockies will do fine just add some rod bolts and youll be set. i hope youll be satisfied with the power you get afterwards. its not going to be that much of an increase but it is a little more umph to the old bucket of love

A 2.36 or 2.38 inch cat and exhaust is a good choice. The looks and sound you prefer from your exhaust, only you can answer that question. I do recommend a Carsound cat though, Carsound is made by Magnaflow.

or go custum. . . .. a 22" resonator is guaranteed to get rid of any raspyness

Sounds like a nice setup, definetly look into some tuning for it to get the most out of the high compression and cams. Will have a nice power curve, I do throw caution into the megan header, i've had there 4-2-1 and there 4-1 and have been dipleased in the results from both of them. I would say since your going to be looking for power probably below 7500 to do some research in your exhaust, alot of them are designed for vtec engines getting max power at 8k+rpms. I guess your planning on using PCT pistons, sounds good, maybe look into boring your block out a little, for another hundred or so you could get an aftermarket set of pistons with compression and bore of your chosing, but with the PCTs you would be running around 11.5:1 so I guess that could work.

RS*R ExMag isn't loud at all unless you are raping it.....even then they are much quieter than the rest. They are very quiet when idling and driving sanely
