You swerve AT potholes or away from?

On top of J13's list, you might consider gaskets. Exhaust/Intake/Oil Pan.. ect..
Basically just think of EVERYTHING that might possibly need replacement ever. Water pump.. check out the oil pump.. that kind of stuff.

I try to avoid the potholes I see, my eye is getting more keen since I bent a rim (previous owner had 50 psi in 215/35/18 tires...

Well I know when my buddy's parents had their car repo'ed he drove it like it was a fricking demolition derby car.

I seem to recall it being jumped, breaking the exhaust, clutch not working and various other issues.

Yea, it was sold to a dealer, Arnold Palmer Caddy in Charlotte, I would hop they would have done some things to the car, I know they put a new clutch in it
