Thanks bro, The plastidip and burnt rubber etc is all from the previous owner before my friend. He wouldn't spend the time to clean it up and just rode it. Sure the next owner would have done the same if someone else bought it. Spent so much time cleaning it up already it's rediculous. Atleast 10+ hours of cleaning. Now when I walk outside though it looks clean, Hope whenever my brake pads battery etc come in that it rides/runs good and is reliable. I've only heard it run when he jump started it, Seen him ride it out to load it up etc. Sounded like it ran really good and sounded like a strong motor, So I hope.

R13 or anyone else, The bike has a lowering link on it. I have to remove the bolt in the link and move it to the hole further back to lower it. What's the proper way to do this? Can I put the rear stand I have that's lifts it from the swingarm and rear wheel in the air than just remove the bolt and move it or what?

No fucks given.
Of course can't have a fuel injected 2 stroke dirtbike.. D: I'm sure it's possible though lol
There's a company that makes a fuel injection kit, but it's like $500 and you need a tuning program, I've seen a few 2T Zuma guys and a bunch of the 150 swapped Ruckus guys with it. Same company also makes a tiny turbo for the FI kit.

Agreed.

The stupid carbs that come on these things have an electric choke over a manual one and mine has failed once before. I'm thinking it may have done it again. Won't be sure until tomorrow though, gonna unplug it and see if it runs smoother at idle.

I'll probably just end up leaving it there and clipping the wires instead of spending the 30 or so on a manual conversion. Broke life

I don't think I'd ever own another carbureted vehicle. My go kart was a pain to tune everyday. One day it would be perfect the next the idle would be too low.

Speaking of carbs I was just out riding in a local parking lot and a guy came by with his straight piped 98? Ninja 600. It was carbed plus bored over 30 thou and holy crap was it fast! He let me take it for a spin. Can't wait!

Brake pads and master cylinder came in. I had ordered a clutch master cylinder, Ended up recieving a Brake master cylinder. I only paid $35 shipped for it and it's in good condition. So I'm not worried about sending it back since my brake reservoir bracket etc is broken I'll just use it. I still have to find a clutch master cylinder/reservoir now though. Battery should be here tomorrow. I put in a order for the chain and sprocket kit, I ordered the driven 520 evo-spec kit, 15T front sprocket, 42 rear, -1, stock, with a EK MVXZ gold chain.

Cleaned some more plastidip here and there, Installed the EBC brake pads today, Now I got to change out the brake master cylinder/reservoir now and than put new brake fluid and bleed the system. I bought 4 quarts of mobil 1 4t 10w-40, and a K&N gold filter, Going to change out the oil after I do the rest of brake system.

Currently at $2465 invested in the bike, After all parts ordered including chain/sprocket and oil/filter

Calipers all cleaned up and brake pads installed.

That's part of the plan, I been wanting a 06-07 1000rr for along time, I'm going to ride this atleast this year, Probably sell it next spring or summer when prices are in the upper range instead of winter. I been saving for a MK4 supra, My brother's like why did you buy a bike you almost had a supra. I just said well I'm pretty sure I can make profit off this bike even after riding it the rest of the year and have even more money for a supra in the end. Lol. Hopefully it works out. After I get a MK4 supra I'll buy another 1000rr. Bikes depreciate overtime and that's a fact. If I sell it get a supra, Save up more money, I can probably buy a clean 1000rr 06-07 for 4k in 2 or 3 years.

I feel good for cleaning this bike up, Noone else could see past how dirty it was and just said it was junk. Whenever I seen it in person I was just like I can get this cheap and clean the shit out of it and it'll look great when i'm done. Now everyone looks at it like damn it looks way different lol

Here's a scary video lol

The other asshole
Lol, 06-07 blades will be 5500+ for at least 5 more years, I see no reason not to keep that one, Once you get the title it's pretty much the best deal ever, If the engine's healthy just continue cleaning it up and keep it!

Oil change, mobil1/K&N. New brake reservoir/master cylinder installed. Ordered a clutch master cylinder/reservoir and recieved a brake. Bracket and such was broke on mine anyways so I just swapped them out. Something scary though, The bike only had 1.5 quarts of oil in it when I drained. It's suppose to have like 3... ??????????????

Accel.speed

basically, i like fast!
Yeah mine takes three. Did you try tipping it over? Although a lot more should have came out...
