it is vtec. U have to wire vtec into the harness or buy a new harness already wired with vtec. and if you do it right you will have no worries. The b18a1 actually has the strongest bottom end of any of the b series motors. Put eagle low compression pistons, rods, bearings etc. Do a couple things top end, upgrade injoctors, and get a better fuel pump, make sure all internals kept are in good condition, then boost away.

if youre gonna turbo, turbo the stock a1 cuz 1 those engines arent too pricey and 2 you can just pound them.

Easiest fix is getting a GS-R swap and calling it a day until you do your research on boost and higher engine options.

Well Im not too worried bout boostin my car right now. Im scouting a motor to build and put in later. Ill prolly rebuild my b18 right now and then have my Vtec on the side so I can swap later. Suspension comes first tho. I need a steering gear rack, struts for all four wheels( and bushings), front and rear camber kits( my front tires keep wearing on the inside) and an ignition(its acting up). The just of it is: I need to know what is the best motor to build that will put out the most hp. But I need it to be reliable. There is so much sh*t to do to my teg that I think I might go crazy. But when I get 5k I need to know what to do with it.

Thats Sick!Ive been around hondas for quite sometime. I was actually offered a job at one of our local honda dealerships when i bought my teg. Ive got a bigass printout about lsvtec builds, swaps, which ones are the strongest, what head matches which block etc. Im not just spittin shit.
